Home Heart Monitors Recommended By Health Groups


New York (ChattahBox) - Major health organizations stated that they highly-recommend the use of heart monitors at home . They have found that this could help control hypertension,
blood pressure, thus reducing the risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular events.

The major health organizations involved in the recommendation include the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Hypertension.
Reports state that there are 70 million people in the U.S. who suffer from hypertension, with 25 million having pre-hypertension.

These health groups have stressed that blood pressure can be controlled if attention is paid to it.
These heart monitors can assist greatly in the control of it.
With better control of your blood pressure, you can lower your risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and sudden death.
Consistent readings of your blood pressure a few times a day is recommended.

McCain Releases Medical Records, Healthy Enough For A President?


New York (ChattahBox) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain has announced he has released his medical records to the media, trying to show Americans he is healthy.

If McCain is elected, he would be the oldest president of the United States in history at 71-years old, beating Ronald Reagan by 3 years. Health has been one of the biggest questions facing
McCain, as many want to know if he is healthy enough to be president of the United States.
McCain has selected certain media outlets to look over his medical records so that they can see first-hand that he is healthy enough to be commander-in-chief.
McCain is a cancer survivor as he beat melanoma. His famliy also has a history of heart disease, with his dad dying at age 70 of a heart attack.

The Republican candidate has stated though that he is in great health. The Associated Press was one of the media outlets who had the chance to look over the records.
The AP stated that the records showed he has degenerative arthritis from war injuries. His blood pressure and weight are said to be healthy, as is his cholesterol level. This puts McCain’s heart in a very healthy state.

His records did reveal that he is sill at risk of developing new skin cancers, though he is under close watch.

The last time McCain released his medical records was in 1999, when he was going against George W. Bush to try to win the Republican nomination.
McCain will turn 72-years old in August.

Idol Contestant Luke Menard Diagnosed With Cancer


Hollywood (ChattahBox) - Former American Idol contestant Luke Menard has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer.

Luke Menard managed to gain many fans making it to the top 16 in American Idol season 7, which was eventually won by David Cook.

Menard saw his doctor after complaining of a persistent cough that would not go away. Tests done by his doctor revealed the mass behind his heart.
Menard’s acapella group Chapter 6 put out a statement that he has a very curable cancer and is in good spirits.
