ADHD Causes Adults To Lose Nearly A Month Of Work Yearly

Washington (ChattahBox) - A new study has shown that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has a great impact on the lives of children and adults. The disease has been found to cost adults nearly a month of work each year.

Research for the study was carried out and led by Dr. Ron de Graaf of the Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction.
7,000 employed and self-employed adults between 18 and 44-years old were used in the study. Out of those 7,000, 3.5% had ADHD, with it being more prevalent in men than women.

The study found that ADHD caused adults to lose 22.1 days of work each and every year, impacting their thinking skills, concentration, social skills, etc.
It also forced them to be absent from work 8.7 days each year.

Researchers recommend that employers try to treat workers for ADHD to save money in the long run
